What’s an “Illuminated Name?” No, I’m not talking about special lighting effects here. . .
Illuminated manuscripts have a long history of embellishing an important book or document. Often, the first letter or word of a page would be elaborately decorated – usually with scenes or symbols related to the work.
Inspired by this tradition, I use your name and turn each letter into a personalized painting – your interests & colors, suited to your occasion. I use small-scale watercolors and multi-dimensional layering to give this ancient tradition a modern look – perfect for a truly unique birthday, baby, or thank-you gift.
First, I’ll ask for some information about you or your gift – to tailor the painting to your tastes & interests. Then, each painting is meticulously hand-drawn, hand-painted, hand-cut & hand-assembled.
